As has been the case with Wynwood and the Miami Design District, many of the long-abandoned spaces dotted throughout Miami’s urban core have seen regeneration at the hands of savvy developers who have one eye on the strong cultural reputation the Magic City is building. With 70 tenants set over some 100,000 square feet, Ofer Mizrahi’s Miami Ironside is an emerging district accommodating everybody from artists and designers to creators and gallerists.

Last Friday, April 27th, was the launch event with sunset tours, complimentary cocktails and bites as well as live music to celebrate the installation of Inside | Out at Ironside!
April 2018 | Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) Brings Art to Miami Ironside With Inside|Out
Miami is the fourth city to host Inside|Out, a program conceived by the Detroit Institute of Arts in 2010. The program kicked off in Miami in 2016 and in 2018, PAMM expanded their community by installing a total of 15 reproductions throughout the Ironside campus.

Icon Makers narrates the history and the present of Italian design through an overview of 100 protagonists in the field, selected and introduced in terms of their specific professional categories. Each section is edited with commentary by outstanding international design experts like Domitilla Dardi, Deyan Sudjic, Leonardo Sonnoli, to take stock of the evolution of roles and the forms of expertise involved in the world of contemporary design.

Miami is full of surprises. Some come in the form of great restaurants, or new places to explore. Some have been around for years, but remain a mystery to many. Miami Ironside fits all of these categories and goes beyond. This creative collective urban space is tucked in the historic Upper East Side neighborhood and offers a refreshing new take on the artistic-meets-sustainable Miami vibe. The bright-colored outdoor venue is home to dozens of art galleries, designers, creatives, architects, fashion retailers, a boxing gym, nitrogen ice cream and local favorite Ironside Pizza, among others.

December 2015 | Miami Ironside – A Design Escape
Reminiscent of Brera Design District in Milano, Miami Ironside is a green environment punctuated with rainbow eucalyptus trees and outdoor paths linking glass storefronts accented by public plazas’ serviced by cafes, boutiques, retailers and showrooms. Ironside also hosts public art installations and exhibitions throughout the year, and since 2013 is the permanent home to four iconic pieces of the Berlin Wall with graphic works by celebrated French street artist Thierry Noir.

In addition, an exhibition of new directions in the work of FIU CARTA students and faculty members, will explore creative takes on digital production techniques at Innovation and Integration in Digital Fabrication.
December 2014 Creative co-working space Miami Ironside draws Laufen’s U.S. headquarters
“Green” principles have led Mizrahi’s creation of Miami Ironside, a collaborative workspace for designers, architects, fashion, lighting designers, graphic designers, furniture and fixture suppliers in 100,000 square feet of adapted warehouse space in the Upper East Side. Among them are Mizrahi’s own firm, Coverings Etc.; rug-designer and importer Stephanie Odegard Collection; boutique stationaire Puro Papel; green designers KZ Architecture and, as of Monday, high-end Swiss bath fixture maker Laufen.
